Laura Goff Designs provides glass solutions with artistic creativity to meet the needs of the client while creating and respecting the limitations of glass. We bring beauty to life. We create heirlooms fostering a legacy that will be enjoyed for a lifetime. Her work is often called “Traditional stained glass with a Modern Twist”.

Founding Laura Goff Designs in 2014. Laura is the primary artist and designer. Laura has maintained the basic principles of good design and quality craftsmanship by personally designing and overseeing the fabrication of every project created at the studio.

During her career, she has had continuing education classes under many well-known glass painters: Bob Markert, Debra Coombs, Jim Berberich, Peter McGrain, Kathy Jordan, Walt Leiberman, Terri Mominee, and Charles Z Lawrence.

Laura has had many notable installations. One artwork is installed at the Museum of Science and Energy, Oak Ridge TN. These windows are lit with color changing LEDs. When red light is viewed through red glass, the glass looks black. These windows change as the light behind them changes.

Another recent art installation is unique sculpture reflecting the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on hospital operations at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The sculpture has an iron Fibonacci spiral which represents balance and harmony. The vertical wood slats represent the various charts that we saw during the pandemic. The painted glass scenes show how the virus impacted life during the first 12 months.

In 2018 and 2022, Laura was a recipient of the Bailey Opportunity Grant. Ann and Steve Bailey invest $100,000 to support  artist who live within 50 miles of Knoxville, TN. The goal of Bailey Opportunity Grants is to create a more vital creative community in Knoxville by: encouraging contributions to the city’s economy and quality of life by artists and arts and history organizations; positioning Knoxville as a community that honors its creative industry and supports the efforts of artists and organizations to achieve excellence; and raising public profiles of artists and organizations within the city and beyond.

Laura supports the Stained Glass Association of America (SGAA), an organization dedicated to the advancement and development of the craft of stained and decorative art glass. Laura has served on the Membership Committee, Conference Committee, Exhibition Committee, and Marketing Committee. From 2009-2011 Laura served as Secretary for the Stained Glass School. From 2012 -2017 Laura was the Social Media Administrator. She helped the SGAA grow from 1200 followers to over 9000. In 2014 Laura taught a painting on glass classes, giving back to the art by expanding the detailed skill enabling others to create.

In 2014, Laura was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for her “tireless service to the success of recent SGAA Conferences and for consistent and informative contributions to the Association’s social media content”. When the original speaker was lost in traffic, Laura stepped in and presented an impromptu lecture on social media marketing at the SGAA conference.
